North Korea Could Own 11,000 BITCOIN worth $120million
Supreme Leader and all round nutter, Kim Jong-un, could be sat on a $120m BitCoin fortune.
The story, which in all honesty is probably made up rubbish by the US Army, but is still rather amusing .
Priscilla Moriuchi, a former US National Security Agency officer, has claimed North Korea could have brought in as much as $210million (£151million), an estimated 11,000 Bitcoins, from cryptocurrencies last year.
She said: “I would bet that these coins are being turned into something – currency or physical goods – that are supporting North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programme.”
In all seriousness nuclear weapons cost a great deal more than $120m although she went on to say that she thinks the North Korean regime acquired its vast number of Bitcoins from mining or hacking. North Korea’s economy is pretty much reliant on trade with China.
Ms Moriuchi stated that increased regulations in the crypto currency world so that the world could track the dealings of Kim Jong-un. Increased regulations is something only governments want so everyone can go back to ignoring Ms Moriuchi.
