Google – Second Largest BlockChain Investor in the World.
Alphabet’s (GOOGL) Google has invested over $1.2bn in block chain based investment since 2012. Japans SBI Holdings (EWJ) tops the list after investing in 8 block chain start ups.
Google has invested in six blockchain-focused companies since 2012, and its investments include cryptocurrency derivatives-trading platform LedgerX, data storage provider Storj, and merchant services provider Veem.
Google could be investing in block chain for a number of reasons. First obviously is that they believe their will be long term profit generated from these investments and second could be that they are looking at taking the technology and either helping develop it or integrating it with its current operations.
